Mayor Manon Barbe said that “day camps still exist. Instead of these camps being organised by the Borough, they will fall under the responsibility of LaSalle’s non-profit organisations. Eight organisations have accepted to undertake this work and will offer specialised camps based on their competencies. The organisations will need to hire monitors and employees who have worked in our camps can apply to them. We are the 12th Borough in the island of Montreal to transfer day camps to non-profit organisations. Only six boroughs have not taken the lead but that will be the next step.”
