Mathieu Nardi impersonating his idol
The King is alive and well for a 13-year-old LaSalle boy!
Mathieu Nardi is a young 13-year-old LaSalle resident who's in love with Elvis Presley's music. Thanks to his grandfather who introduced him to Elvis' music, Mathieu has been passionate about the King.
Since the age of eight, Mathieu has been singing his songs and dancing like his idol. Every night, in his room, he would watch the movies and videos that Elvis made and mimic his moves. At the age of 10, he started taking guitar lessons. Despite his young age, Mathieu is already considered an Elvis impersonator. While he's known to be a reserved boy in his daily life, he becomes another person when impersonating the King.
In 2007, the young LaSalle resident has participated in various shows and events, like "The King is Back". This past May 12, Mathieu took part in celebrations marking the inauguration of the South-West borough office, where he performed four songs. He was also the subject of a report on "Le Canal Nouvelles" on March 25, where he took the opportunity to explain his admiration for Elvis impersonator, Martin Fontaine, currently featured in the "Elvis Story".
A dream comes true
In August of 2006, Mathieu finally got to live out a big dream, when he visited Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee. He also visited Sun Studio and went to Tupelo, the King's birth place.
In the summer of 2007, Mathieu will be participating in the Retro Festival in Victoriaville, on June 9. A native of LaSalle, Mathieu attended Pierre-Rémy School and currently attends École secondaire de Saint-Laurent. The son of Diane Garand and Giuseppe Nardi of LaSalle, Mathieu has a brother, Francis.
