Local McDonald's makes $8,800 donation to Wallaby Camp
Donation raised through local McHappy Day Fundraiser to support summer camp.
McDonald’s restaurants in boroughs of LaSalle presented a cheque for $8,800.00 to the local Wallaby Camp in support of summer camp.
The funds donated were raised by the local McDonald’s through its participation in the 15th McHappy Day, a national fundraiser held in more than 1,400 McDonald’s restaurants across Canada. On this day, one dollar from every Big Mac® sandwich, McMuffin® sandwich and Happy Meal® sold went to benefit local children’s charities across the country. In addition, many restaurants held fundraising events leading up to McHappy Day to lend additional support. In LaSalle, all funds raised were earmarked for Wallaby Camp.
As part of this one-day fundraising initiative, McDonald’s restaurants across the country raised money to support over 230 children’s charities, helping thousands of Canadian children in need.
“At McDonald’s, we’re proud to be continuing our long-time support of local charities,” said Michel Marchand from McDonald’s. “Following our most recent successful McHappy Day on May 9th, we’re thrilled to be providing this cheque for $8,800.00 to such a worthwhile cause as Wallaby Camp
“We at Wallaby Camp are excited to be the recipient of funds raised as part of this year’s McHappy Day celebrations,” said Patrice Boileau from Wallaby Camp “It is our ultimate goal to help better the lives of children in our community, and we are so happy to work with a company who shares that goal.”
As part of the McHappy Day celebrations, all McDonald’s Canada restaurants, franchisees and employees were joined by a variety of special guests, sports and media personalities, politicians and professional entertainers as they rolled up their sleeves to work behind the counter in cities and towns across the country.
