Great summer for the Kilomaitres
Twenty-one medals and two provincial records
The Kilomaitres LaSalle track and field team has had a superb summer of results at different meets. In Sherbrooke, July 27-29, at the provincial championships, the team collected 21 medals and Lucanus Robinson set two provincial records.
In the minime category, Lucanus won the gold in the 60 meters and set records with a time of 20,74 in the 150 m and a long jump of 4,78 m.
Alex Szuba finished with four medals, one gold in the 60 m hurdles, two silver and one bronze.
In the Benjamin, Brandon Horsford won the silver in the hammer throw competition, while Malik Johnson finished third in the 150 m and 800 m. Khalil Kerr also finished third in the 80 m.
In the Benjamin girls, Christina Laccone won the gold in the highest jump (1,47 M) and the silver in the longest (4,93 M). Amanda Pierlet earned the gold in the hammer throw.
In the cadets' boys and girls, Joseph Brunetta took the gold in the highest jump and the silver in the shot put competition. Caitlin Lee finished second in the high jump.
Finally, Juvenile girls Nicole Riley and Shauna Agard also had great results. Nicole won the gold in the high jump, followed by Shauna with the silver. Shauna also finished second in the hammer throw.

Earlier in July, at provincial level competitions, gold medals went to high jumpers Jorden Savoury, Keisha Lamptey and Dakota Delaronde. Silver medals went to Brenna Lee in quadrathlon, Jonathan Matthews in pentathlon and Kadeem Campbell in 200 M. Also, Greg Savoury won a bronze in the high jump.
Christina Laccone, Caitlin Lee, Ashley Joslin, Shauna Agard, Kadeem Campbell and Jonathan Matthews were in Sept-iles for the Jeux du Québec, while Joseph Brunetta and Nicole Riley were performing at the national legion games in New Brunswick.
