Rules to follow during public events
In collaboration with the sporting associations of LaSalle, Station 13 of the Montreal Police Community would like to inform you that municipal by-laws must be respected by those attending events in all public areas of the borough of LaSalle.
In this regard, here are some of the by-laws which apply to all public places including parks, sporting fields and arenas. Those in contravention of these by-laws could face fines of over 100$ or imprisonment.
Examples of such behaviour: whoever disturbs the peace by swearing, creating an uproar or by being implicated in a verbal or physical altercation, possessing or consuming alcohol without authorisation or being found intoxicated by alcohol or drugs.
Police officers from Station 13 will make periodic visits to sporting venues in the borough to assure public order. We appreciate that the majority of spectators are law abiding citizens and we hope that good behaviour will prevail so that our young athletes, who are participating, may enjoy themselves in an atmosphere of sportsmanship and safety.
