Deer pays LaSalle a visit
On Thursday afternoon, August 30 a young female deer weighing approximately 130 lbs crossed the Saint-Lawrence River and visited the LaSalle riverbank, near LaSalle boulevard and 75th Avenue.
Police officers from Station 13 received a number of calls about the animal and they requested assistance from firefighters from Station 65, as well as from a wildlife agent. At one point, the deer was corned by the police officers, between Dollard Avenue and 75th Avenue, across from de la Verendrye. In a panic, it started running in all directions and police were unable to contain it.
The deer finally managed to find a small opening and returned to the river's south side without being captured.
