LaSalle will host 2nd Telus Challenge of the Midget AAA League
From the 29th of November to the 2nd December
The second series of the 2007 Telus Challenge , organised by the Midget AAA Hockey League of Quebec, will be taking place from the 29th of November to the 2nd of December at the Jacques-Lemaire arena and at the Dollard-St-Laurent Sports Centre of LaSalle, as well as in the Guy-Crépin arena in Châteauguay and the Sportium in the city of St. Catherine.
The 16 teams will be reunited under the same activity – winning the Telus Challenge Cup. This is a great opportunity for the 320 Midget AAA players to prove their skills before 150 recruiters for the Junior Major and Junior AAA league who will be scrutinizing their gestures and movements.

Each of the 16 teams will play in two games during the first two days. There will be a double programme in four arenas on the first day of the tournament on Thursday, November 29. The matches on the first day of the Challenge will also count towards the classification for the regular season. Only those teams who win their second game on Friday, November 30 and in the following games can move forward to the quarter finals and to the semi-finals on Saturday, December 1. The finals will be played on Sunday, December 2, beginning at 13h30 on the rink of the Jacques-Lemaire arena on Champlain Boulevard in LaSalle.
Étoiles game for 15-year olds in the AAA category
Before the finals, the Midget AAA league will be presenting the Match des Étoiles in LaSalle’s Jacques-Lemaire arena at 11h00 featuring 15-year old Midget AAA players. The 40 players will be selected by the individuals in charge of the Support and Recruitment Centre of the Major Junior League. “We are happy to be able to present the games that bring together the best 40 of the 15-year old players into our League. The youth will be displaying their talents to fans and recruiters who will be present at the event”, president Claude Gauthier said.
Midget Espoir Matches
On Saturday afternoon, two regular matches of the Espoir Midget will take place between the quarter final and semi-final games representing the four training circuits from the Lac Saint-Louis region which will be presented at the Jacques-Lemaire arena.
