LaSalle adopts three-year plan for plant, property and equipment
For 2008-2009-2010
During the October 23 special meeting on Tuesday, LaSalle Borough Council adopted its three-year plan for plant, property and equipment for 2008-2009 and 2010. This plan provides for expenses amounting to $5,132,000.
This three-year programme constitutes the synthesis of the future vision and evolution that Council members are hoping will inject a better quality of life for residents of LaSalle.
According to a statement made by Mayor Manon Barbe, “because it is the greatest priority of our people, we will reserve a portion of this plan - $3,232 million – to re-surface our streets and sidewalks. It is 2-1/2 times more than the sum invested in the 2007 plan for this type of work. Moreover, $600,000.00 will be allocated for the purchase of operating materials, $300,000 for improving our parks and $100,000 for upgrading our computer and IT system. Finally, $900,000.00 will be allocated to changing street lights for whiter illumination.
