Calac swimmers start season with a Splash
Another swimming season is upon us and CALAC, LaSalle’s swim team, has started the year on a high note. The team traveled to Quebec City to take part in the 17th annual provincial invitational competition.
Philippe Gingues, 12 years old, made finals in all seven of his events and managed to win four medals: 2 gold medals in the 200m IM and 200m backstroke, and 2 bronze medals in the 400m IM and 50m backstroke. Jeff Loewen, 14 years old, also made finals in all of his events and managed to win a silver medal in the 200m IM. Fannie Nantel, 13 years old, won two medals, gold in the 200m backstroke and bronze in the 200m breaststroke. Fannie attained her Canadian under 15 standards, which will allow her to travel to Toronto in February to compete against the best swimmers in the country.
