Deadline for nominations is February 1, 2008

The Right Honourable Paul Martin, M.P. for LaSalle-Émard, reminds readers that the deadline for nominations for the Thérèse Casgrain Volunteer Award is February 1, 2008.

“The award was established to commemorate the work of Senator Thérèse Casgrain who died in 1981, said Mr. Martin. An Eminent Canadian whose volunteer actions keep inspiring us, she was the force behind various social reforms and a persistent advocate of justice and equality.”

The award is presented annually to two Canadians, one man and one woman, and highlights the importance of volunteerism in Canadian society.
