Are the promises of Mayor Barbe only words or political blabla… ?

Each year in Quebec, we have snow in winter and in LaSalle. The reason to raise taxes in LaSalle of 20 cents per $100.00 in 2007 until 2010 «was to provide and to maintain the same services that the citizens of LaSalle were used to since 2002», confirmed Mrs. Barbe at the Counsel meeting of February 4th 2008.

Yet despite pages of publicity in the Messager at over $1,000.00 per page, despite the delivery of thousands of cards by mail, at the cost of LaSalle tax payers, stating that the snow will be removed and collected «even on Saturday», the snow was not collected on Saturday February 2nd. Mrs Barbe on February 4th, gave the following excuse: «We only collect on Saturday when the snow stops falling.» Well, you be the judge ! The snow stopped falling overnight but Mrs Barbe didn't see it ! I am questioning you Mrs. Barbe who are you trying to fool ? Why can't you keep your promises ? Why are you giving all sorts of excuses to the citizens ? Is it to hide your incompetence ?

How can you say that you are proud of the snow removal since November 2007 ? Is this the kind of snow removal services that the citizens of LaSalle were used to in the past ? NO ! You cannot fool us ! Why did you clear of snow the bicycle path of the LaSalle Boulevard way before clearing the sidewalks of LaSalle ?

Let us remind the citizens of LaSalle that CTV has reported on January 19, 2008, that LaSalle Borough had the worst snow removal record on the Island of Montreal. After being in the news, for the worst polluted pools in 2006, LaSalle has already made the news in 2008 for the worst snow removal of all boroughs on the Island of Montreal and CTV reported that two Postmen were hit by a car as they walked on the streets in LaSalle, because the sidewalks were not cleared. It is for that reason that Canada Post stopped delivering mail in LaSalle for a few days in January 2008 and invited citizens to pick up their mail at the Post Office.

How can you keep repeating as you did, at the Counsel meeting of February 4th 2008, that the snow removal in LaSalle is better than elsewhere on the Island ? You know or should know that this is false ! If you cannot manage properly the borough of LaSalle, it is time for you to step down !
