Five-year prison term for running down four people in a bus shelter @R:Dino Antonelli, 25 years old, was handed a five-year prison term for ramming his vehicle into a bus shelter and injuring four people, one of them his girlfriend. The incident took place on August 19, 2005 on Lapierre Street. Antonelli’s girlfriend had just broken up with him and was with her new boyfriend in a restaurant where Antonelli found them. A fight between the two men ensued after which everyone left the restaurant. Shortly thereafter, Antonelli saw four people in a bus shelter, and recognized two of them: his ex-girlfriend and her brother. He was enveloped in rage and crashed his vehicle into the bus shelter at full speed. The vehicle crashed into the bus shelter and continued its trajectory until it stopped in an open field. Four people were injured, one of them seriously. Jamie Chase had to undergo about 10 surgeries and will bear traces of his injuries all his life according to Le Journal de Montréal. Two other victims suffered a leg fracture and a dislocated finger. Arrested in an area at the corner of Lapierre and Jean-Chevalier streets, Dino Antonelli pleaded guilty to charges of armed assault, serious assault, assaults causing injury and mischief.
