Ultimate Fighting: Christopher Hulme at the Bell Centre

Twenty-three year old LaSalle resident Christopher Hulme has been training for many years, excelling in kickboxing and in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He signed a contract with TKO, the largest Canadian ultimate fighting organisation and will be at the Bell Centre arena on Thursday, February 28 against German fighter Josh Bitner.

He is fulfilling a childhood dream. “I achieved a dream which I’ve been nurturing since I was little. When I was 10 or 11 years old, I used to watch the UFC fights and I told myself that one day, I will be the next one to fight. My life has changed since I signed up with TKO. My training sessions and my preparatory work take up most of my time. I managed to win a place in amateur fighting. I scored a win in kickboxing with Interbox where I achieved KO success in 29 seconds during the first round.”

More determined than ever, Hulme is aiming very high indeed. “I have learned a lot, but I continue to work hard everyday and have every intention to rise to the top ranks of the TKO and challenge anyone as I make my way towards becoming champion one day. I have changed my lifestyle. I have sacrificed much and this sport has altered my life.”

Hulme can count on competent trainers and his parents’ and sponsors’ support. “Shawn Armorer is always by my side and believes in my talents. I wish to thank my other trainers, Josef Azam and Stéphane Denis. As for my parents, they too have shown their confidence in me and have always accepted my dream of engaging in this particular sport.”
