Minimal impact for LaSalle Borough
Consolidation of overpass bridges at approach of Mercier Bridge
The work being planned by the Quebec Transport Minister for reinforcing the two overpass bridges on route 138 that span Monette Street at the approach of the Honoré-Mercier Bridge will have minimal impact on local traffic in LaSalle Borough.
The work planned, namely the supporting structures for Montreal-bound bridge until replacement work is completed, and the reinforcement of the south-shore bound bridge will not cause major inconveniences for users of the local road network: Note that there will be:

* no impact on truck traffic. This area is closed to truck traffic. Only local delivery trucks are allowed; they can take LaSalle Boulevard.

* no impact on car traffic. The few vehicles that take Monette Street, a local street barely 500 meters long, can take LaSalle Boulevard where no barriers will be set up.

* no impact on users of public transportation: the relocation of the Monette-Lafleur bus terminal is not envisaged. The buses that pass Monette Street can enter the terminal and exit from it by using LaSalle Boulevard.

* Minimum detour for pedestrians: pedestrians who are using Monette Street are encouraged to use LaSalle Boulevard;

* little impact for residents: the overpass and reinforcement work will be carried out during the day and will not cause major noise pollution or dust.

As soon as the Minister completes the plans and estimates for the work and has established scheduled completion dates, the Borough will inform all residents.
