Matteo Palladini
Matteo Palladini, Gold Medal at Provincials
Matteo Palladini, a talented figure skater from CPA LaSalle, won the Michel Proulx Provincial championships this past March in St Jean-sur-Richelieu.
This accomplishment makes Matteo the best figure skater of his class in Quebec. Matteo skated his final and most important performance of the season with the confidence and determination of a seasoned competitor to finish 1st in a field of 18 competitors from throughout Quebec. This event caps off an amazing season for this young skater.
Matteo only began figure skating less than three years ago after a few seasons of hockey. Already possessing great skating skills taught to him by his father Sam Palladini, Matteo was able to make the transition from hockey player to figure skater. Training intensively with his coaches, Doris Robidoux and Josée Normand and his mother Claudia Varvaro, Matteo has made unbelievable strides in the sport in a very short time.
Here some of Matteo's other Competitive Results this season: Rivière-des-Prairies Invitational - December 2007 – 1st place. Eva Findlay Provincial Qualifier - January 2008 – 1st place. Carole Pageau Invitational – February 2008 – 1st place. Invitation Terrebonne – February – 1st place.
Matteo also passed both his Junior and Senior bronze tests this past season and was awarded the trophy for CPA LaSalle's competitor of the year. Matteo is a young skater to watch for and it will be exciting to see where he will take his sport in the seasons to come !
