Andrew Willows is Pan American champion!

Participating in the canoe-kayak competition, LaSalle resident Andrew Willows and his teammate Richard Dober bagged another sparkling victory in the K2 200 metre relay last weekend at the Montreal Olympic swimming pool.

Following their win at the qualifying Canadian Olympics two weeks ago, the duo experienced a repeat victory last weekend – definitely a decisive win for the two kayakers. No doubt the pre-Olympic training camp in Florida in which they participated during the winter paid off. They were able to demonstrate their skills on the international scene. “We did not have the chance to measure up to athletes from different countries until this time, and it certainly was a good test to see where we stood. We are very pleased with the results. We’re ready for the World Cup season in Europe in June and for the China Olympics in August”, said Andrew Willows after their victory.
