A Summer of Smiles and Chuckles

This summer, over 517 young readers enrolled in L'Octogone's Summer Reading Club and chalked up 4022 hours of reading pleasure. A great success for the library's Youth Section, which offered youngsters a chance to immerse themselves in the world of laughter. It was with this same theme of laughter that the club members celebrated their summer of reading enjoyment at the closing festivities on August 15. The 80 booklovers on hand were entertained with the funny Clown Express show and, by the end of their evening, their hearts were full of happy memories and their arms full of door prizes, including balloon sculptures.

A random draw was held to highlight the efforts of these young readers. One lucky winner, 7-year-old Nadia Sicoli, won a bicycle, compliments of Cycles et Sports Robert. The other prize-winners won duffle bags filled with books and surprises, gift certificates redeemable at Librairie Monet and a pair of tickets for a Montreal Alouettes game.
