Richard Deschamps Appointed Senior Vice-Chairman
Conférence régionale des élus de Montréal
Councillor Richard Deschamps has been appointed Senior Vice-Chairman of the Conférence régionale des élus de Montréal (CRÉ).
CRÉ liaises with the government in matters relating to regional development for the island of Montréal. Its members are political and socio-economic leaders on the island (mayors, MNAs, city councillors and heads of major organizations and associations—school boards, unions, etc.).
Richard Deschamps is delighted to take on the new challenge of this appointment as Senior Vice-Chairman of CRÉ. With his MBA and Master's degree in Industrial Relations, Richard Deschamps pursued a 20-year career in management and consultation, among various organizations. A LaSalle City Councillor since 1999 and City Councillor of Ville de Montréal since 2001, he is Associate Councillor for projects relating to Imagining and Building Montréal 2025, economic development and sustainable development. He is also a member of Ville de Montréal's Commission de mise en valeur du territoire and the Montréal Agglomeration's Commission de développement économique. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Montréal International and the Commission de l'environnement of the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal.
