To play golf this summer, Manon Barbe and the other elected officials spent 3 592.50 $ of your money. Money that was taken from the budget of LaSalle and not from their generous 15 000$ non taxable expense account that each elected official receives annually. By a resolution, proposed by Richard Deschamps and supported by Manon Barbe, they took almost 3600 $ of your money to go play at six golf tournaments this summer.
This is another frivolous expense that the citizens pay with the locale surtax that is added to your municipal tax bill imposed by Manon Barbe and denounced by Mayor Tremblay and Frank Zampino. Property owners and everyone who pays rent is paying directly or indirectly for Manon Barbe and the other elected officials to play in these golf tournaments.
For someone who works at minimum wage, it would take more then 10 weeks at 40 hours per week to earn this money. How much time does it take you to earn 3600 $ ? It's is clear that the elected LaSalle elected officials do not live in the same reality as the citizens of LaSalle. They have no scruples to spend your money for their own enjoyment. Playing golf with friends on a week day for a "supposedly" good cause, when it's the LaSalle tax payer who paying for these expenses, what could be better then that ?
Manon Barbe who earns more then 120 000$ per year, Richard Deschamps who for the first time in his career is now earning more then 100 000$ per year, not counting the other elected officials who earn between 52 000$ and 100 000$. Let's not forget each of them have a non-taxable 15 000 $ expense account. Why can't they take their own money to play golf and have candle light suppers with the money they are getting ? Why does the citizens have to pay for this ? It's you the citizens who is paying for this, scandalous !
