Leak at Labatt Breweries leads to evacuation

A leak of chlorine dioxide led to the forced evacuation of Labatt Brewery workers at about 2:30 Wednesday morning. About 50 workers had to evacuate the premises; at least five of them had to be taken to the hospital after suffering from the effects of the gas, complaining of irritations and throat pains. The production plant resumed operations a few hours later. No one was seriously injured.
