City of Montreal honours LaSalle couple
Montreal’s 18th Architectural Heritage Campaign
To highlight its 18th Architectural Heritage Campaign, the City of Montreal presented the Heritage Emeritus Award (residential category) to Benoit Dubord and Johanne Richard-Dubord for their efforts in maintaining their home located in 769, 39th Avenue in LaSalle.
The kick-off ceremonies for Montreal’s Architectural Heritage Campaign took place on September 26 in Montreal City Hall. The architectural Emeritus prizes are given to Montreal homeowners who have maintained and restored their homes or commercial buildings to their original appearance. This year, 31 of these prizes were awarded: 23 in the residential category, and eight in the commercial/industrial or office building category.
In LaSalle Borough, the owners of the house at 769 39th Avenue - Benoit Dubord and Johanne Richard-Dubord – received the architectural heritage prize in the residential category. This split-level bungalow turned 50 years old this year. Thanks to consistent maintenance work, the owners managed to preserve several original design elements of the house – notably the sidings and the central windows with their typical trimmings.
