«Many Gaps in LaSalle's Public Security» - Michael Vadacchino

Vision Montreal's candidate in LaSalle, Michael Vadacchino, unveiled the actions he wants to realize in regards to public security, once elected. He exposes the poor quality of these services since the arrival of Manon Barbe as Mayor.

«Since 2003, LaSalle has lots nine policemen and Mayor Barbe has not been able to fill out the positions at the borough. We are aware there is a relatively important street gang phenomenon in LaSalle and it is important that we ensure the security of our children and elderly. To answer this need, I want that the cuts in our policemen's jobs be re-established», insisted Mr. Vadacchino.

He reminded that only one patrol ensures security at night in LaSalle. «How we can make LaSalle safer if we do not have the necessary manpower to act. Not one new security measure was implemented by Mayor Barbe, notwithstanding the fact that for three years citizens have been paying a local surtax. I still question the reasons of this tax if citizens do not benefit of an upgrade in their local services. The shortcomings of Team Barbe's public management are once more demonstrated.»

To answer urgent needs, Michael Vadacchino will implement real teams of park keepers in order to guarantee a higher security level in these public spaces. «These teams will work to eradicate the problems encountered by child care providers, mainly coming across trash, syringes and beer caps in play areas for children. «It is essential that we act now to reassure them and secure these areas. I wishes to make LaSalle a place where children, the elderly and all citizens feel safe in their community.»
