Kadeem Campbell represents region well
At the 43rd Jeux du Québec in Sept-Îles
The Lac Saint-Louis delegation undoubtedly experienced a slow start at the Jeux du Québec, but things seemed to pick up steam in the second block of the competitions. LaSalle athlete Kadeem Campbell and the track and field team saved the region's "honour" with their strong performance.
Two medals in the first block of competitions, 52 in the second, of which 44 were in track and field; that should say it all. Thanks to those 54 medals, Lac Saint-Louis finished in fourth place and also won the title of best track and field team for the seventh year, as well as setting a record in points in this category.

Fifteen-year-old Kadeem Campbell was undoubtedly the star of the show, coming home with no less than five medals.

Kadeem won the gold in the 200m sprint, the mixed relay and the 4 x 100m relay, as well as the silver in the 300m sprint and the bronze in the 100m sprint. In the relay, he and his teammates even established a Jeux du Québec record with a time of 50, 91 seconds.
His impressions
"I found the entire experience truly exciting and it was great to take part for the very first time at the Games. It was so out of the ordinary for me to have so many teammates and compete against so many athletes from all over Quebec," Campbell stated.
Overall, the young athlete is pleased with his results. "I'm thrilled to be part of a record; I feel like I'm part of history now and that's something that few people can claim, but I wish I had done better at the 100m sprint."

The 15-year-old had to console himself with his time in the 200m sprint, which allowed him to beat his personal best. Kadeem feels he owes his performance to all the encouragement he received from his teammates during the race.
Caitlin Lee
Caitlin Lee also brought home a gold medal. The 15-year-old athlete from LaSalle and her teammates won the 4 x 100m in the girl's sprint.
In swimming, the 28-member team only brought back a single medal, which is well below the usual Lac Saint-Louis standards in this discipline. Nonetheless, the region finished fifth overall in points.
