Great season for the LaSalle Minor Football Association
The LaSalle Minor Football Association is enjoying a great season and our teams are getting ready for the upcoming playoff schedule and the quest for a Provincial Championship Trophy.
Our Warriors teams, from Atom through Midget, have a combined win-loss record of 52 wins and only 10 defeats, or an 83% winning percentage, with four other games ending in a tie. The Tykes (6-7 years), Atom (8-9 years), Mosquito (10-11 years) and Pee-Wee (12-13 years) teams compete in the Montreal Regional Football League, that includes teams from St. Léonard, Sun Youth, Greenfield Park, Chateauguay, Richelieu, Joliette and others.
Our Bantam AAA team (14-15 years) plays in the top division (Bill Allan) of the Quebec Bantam Football League. They are in second place, right behind the powerful North Shore Lions, with a record of 7 wins and only 1 loss. Head Coach Norman Weekes expects to give North Shore a good run for their money in the playoffs !
Our Midget AAA squad is tied for first place, with a 6-1 record, in the very strong upper division of the Quebec Midget Football League. They are definite contenders for the Provincial Championship crown. Head Coach Andrew Peterkin promises an exciting finish to the season!
Our Awards Banquet will take place on Sunday, November 18th, at CEGEP Andre-Laurendeau. Our fund-raising Grey Cup Party will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Sunday, November 25th. Our annual Volunteer Appreciation Night will be held on Friday, November 16th, at Buffet Il Gabbiano. !
