Volunteer Tribute 2007: Dazzling Dinner-Dance

On Friday, October 19, the borough of LaSalle played host to over 800 guests at its annual grand volunteer tribute evening, which was held at Centre de reception Sorrento. This dinner-dance provided an opportunity to thank the Borough's volunteers who give their time and put all their heart into making LaSalle's local associations more dynamic.

In a new and lavish decor, the guests were welcomed by Mayor Manon Barbe; Paul Martin, M.P. for LaSalle-Émard; Councillors Alvaro Farinacci and Richard Deschamps, Vincenzo Cesari, Lise Zarac, Ross Blackhurst and Laura Palestini as well as Luciana Evangelista, representative of Monique Jérôme-Forget, MNA for Marguerite Bourgeoys.

The guests had a chance to enjoy the talents of two couples—all professional dancers—who took turns presenting their tango and salsa-merengue numbers.

Following a random drawing, Albina Martucelli, Vice-President of Club Falchi, took part in a simulation of the popular Deal or No Deal show. She refused the banker's offer and the contents of the suitcase were revealed. Mrs. Martucelli won a 5-day, 4-night trip to Las Vegas, including accommodations, air transportation, transfers between the airport and hotel as well as two tickets to the Cirque du Soleil's "O" show.
