His 10.35 performance was achieved in Grand Prix of Rieti, Italy last September, where he finished fifth in the historical race achieved in 9.74 seconds by Jamaïcain Asafa Powell.
Canada Athletics will not submit his name to Canada Sport because of an injury he sustained in July 2007 during the semi-finals of the Canadian senior championships and to help him prepare for the Olympics.
Last September, Palmer finished in the first five positions in three competitions held in Europe (Italy, Spain), strengthening his chances to run at the 2008 Olympic Games. Among his best performances throughout his career, he won third place in the 400 X 100 metre run during the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia. He also finished fifth in the 200-metre sprint, also on Australian soil. In 2003, he took part in the Pan-Am Junior Games in Barbados.
