2008 Quartiers fleuris Competitions

Whether you're an amateur gardener, have a passion for plants or are a colour artist, the competitions are open to everyone. It's fun and easy to enter! Just plant your favourite flowers with beauty and style, in order to spruce up the front of your home or your work premises.

You have until July 31 to register in one of these four categories:

 Front lawn

 Balcony

 Budding gardener

 Business or institution

Phone 514 367-1000, extension 6813, and leave your name and address in our voice mail along with the category in which you want to be registered.

August 7-17, the Beautification Committee will be going up and down the streets of the Borough looking for beautiful landscaping. If you're not registered, maybe the committee members will convince you to do so!

The judges will then get together to select the best creations. The criteria are:

 The beauty of the floral arrangements and landscaping

 Vegetation health

 The overall visual effect

 The appearance of the lawn, if applicable

Gardeners with the most beautiful landscapes will receive a letter from the Beautification Committee, announcing that they are the finalists in the contest and informing them of the steps to follow to confirm their attendance at the ceremony where the winners will be crowned. Please note: The finalists' landscapes will be photographed August 19-21.

The announcement of the winners' names (a possibility of 10), all categories combined, will be made at a ceremony to be held in September. Gift certificates from various local stores will be awarded to the winners and door prizes will be drawn among those in attendance.

So what are you waiting for to enter the contest? Who knows? Maybe your neighbours will come and ask you for advice next year!
