Complaints regarding the air conditioning compressor of the City Hall of LaSalle

For the last two years, residents of Riverview Street have been complaining to Mayor Barbe and elected Councillors about the noise of the new air conditioning compressor installed on the roof of the building of the City Hall of LaSalle some time in 2006. The noise is so loud at night that the residents cannot sleep with their windows open. The citizens asked the Mayor and the Counsellors to do something about that noise.

The answers from the Mayor Manon Barbe were as follows: «1- I live next to the LaSalle hospital and I endure a similar noise. 2- The buses running in the evenings on Airlie Street are making more noise than the air conditioning compressor. 3- We had experts measure the noise and it's in the norms.»

Citizens of LaSalle, if you had the same problem, would you be satisfied of those answers from your Mayor and Councillors ? Did you know that in the City of LaSalle this year, the heat and the air conditioning were working at the same time all summer long ?

At the Council meeting, some citizens complained to her and asked why is it like that ? Isn't this a mis-management of public funds ? Isn't bad for the environment ? All Ms Barbe answered was: «Yes, I know, we have a problem.» But that air conditioning compressor has been installed at the tax payer's of LaSalle only two years ago. Today, they make silent compressors. If it doesn't work properly, is should be changed because as it should be under the guarantee. Citizens of LaSalle, don't you agree that this is a waste of the tax payer's money ? Is this the real reason why Ms Barbe imposed us, citizens of LaSalle, a surtax so she can waste our money and hide her incompetence to manage the Borough of LaSalle ?
