Preparations for the upcoming football season are heating up, and we are expecting the 2009 season to be one of the most exciting yet. 2009 marks the 44th consecutive year that the LaSalle Minor Football Association (LMFA) offers an organized, tackle football program to young athletes in LaSalle and surrounding cities.
It will be the first year that our players will demonstrate their talents on the brand new Fieldturf football field at Riverside Park, which was made possible through the cooperation of the Borough of LaSalle and our MNA, Mme. Monique Jerôme-Forget.
Although the first games of the season are still six months away, we wish to advise you of a couple of important, upcoming events.
On Monday, February 23rd, at 8:00 pm, the General Assembly will be held at the Dollard St. Laurent Arena, at 707 – 75th Avenue, at the corner of Airlie. The purpose of this meeting is to review the President’s report and financial statements of the 2008 season, and to elect the members of the executive for the 2009 season. The voters are the registered volunteers from the 2008 season, all parents and all those interested in volunteering this year, are invited to attend.
We are excited about our “Pro-Camp” that will be taking place in May 15, 16 and 17. Former LaSalle Warriors star receiver, Kevin Challenger, who is now playing with the Edmonton Eskimos, is coordinating our non-contact football camp, at which the coaches will be current NFL and CFL players, as well as former teammates of Kevin’s while starred with the Boston College Eagles. You can get all the details and register online at <@Ri:>
