Hank Palmer and teammates finish fourth in Philadelphia
Last weekend, LaSalle sprinter Hank Palmer and his teammates Anson Henry, Jared Connaughton and Brian Barnett of the Canadian team grabbed fourth place during the 4 x 100 metre run in Philadelphia, recording a time 38.85 seconds.
They passed the standard required by the International Federation, qualifying them for the next world championships. “There were other events where we could pass the standard but I’m glad we made it. It was a great run”, said Hank Palmer, first rally runner to compete on the track.
Readers will recall that during the Olympic Games in China last summer, Palmer and the Canadian rallying team finished in 6th place.
The 5'11''athlete who weighs 171 pounds worked double time throughout his career to become one of the world’s best sprinters. Originally from Pierrefonds, Palmer recently celebrated his 24th birthday. He is a member of the St. Laurent Select Club. He won 3rd place in the 4 x 100 metre relay in the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia.
